The weekend after my birthday we packed up and drove the 6 hours (which actually ended up being close to 10) down to Lake Garda Italy. The drive there took us through some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. So much so I cried a couple of time because of the beauty. The GPS took us an alternate route once we entered Italy because of traffic. What we failed to realize was that is was taking us over a mountain pass. Once we got up to the top of the mountain (about 1 hour later) we could not go much further because there were still some ice glaciers on the road. So back down the way we came. Once we got to the bottom of the mountain we saw a sign stating, in italian of course that that pass was closed because of the ice! Not fun, but we got to see beautiful mountain tops. Other than that it was a pretty uneventful drive. Logan and Aaron did pretty well.
We stayed at
Bella Italia! Right on the lake really nice and about a 10 minute (with little kids) to Peschiera. It was beautiful. Oh I want to go there again.
This is in Peschiera. Such a lovely quaint little village. So much to see and do. The weather was perfect. Not too hot, but warm.
And of course we had tons of Gelato. Anytime of day if we found a place we had some. So many wonderful yummy flavors. Logan was in heaven.
This was the view from our restaurant! I could of sat here for hours just taking it in.
Here is AC enjoying the new shades and hat I bought for our trip. He is soo cute!
And here is Logan! He was having so much fun, he looked Italian with that hat! The locals kept smiling and saying hi to him. He is so social.
