We had a wonderful Saturday. We head south to the Black Forrest for a lovely afternoon. We arrived around noon so we grabbed a bite to eat before we took a nice steep hike. (Now I will admitt to how out of shape I am.) There was a sign posted that said it was a 15 minute hike. We started off.
There were many of these up hill steep paths. The first 400 yards I was holding Logan, and I ended up dragging myself up the path. No buns of steel here. I was huffin' and puffin'. Mike was just laughing, so he took over and held Logan as we continued our hike.
The path was not enough, they had to put hundreds upon hundred of stairs. Yay. Mike and Logan enjoying my struggle up the stairs. I was feeling the burn. And after 20 minutes, maybe more we finally reached the top.
This was at the top of our hike. You could see this castle on top of the hill for miles. It was beautiful. Once up there we walked around the castle. You could pay to go in, but we have learned that with Lo, tours are not always the best. We just payed for the grounds. It is better to be able to do our thing. We were glad we did that. I accidently put too much sunscreen on Lo's face, and he rubbed it into his eyes. Poor little lad had a bad reaction to it. We ended up leaving much soon that we had expected.
Sunday was Mothers Day.
We slept in(until Lo started hitting our faces trying to wake us up). Breakfast in bed, thanks to room service. We skipped church, and headed off to Heidelburg. Let me just begin by saying this town has won my heart. So maybe there are some perks to living in Germany. I already want to plan a trip back! We had a wonderfu lunch in the Old Town Square. The weather was perfect. Sunny with a nice warm breeze. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the views of the cobble stones, old charming fountain, cathedral, shops and shops. There were some musicians playing music for tips. Just lovely.
We were on a bridge looking at the castle. We did not go up to the castle this time. Just took a lovely stroll around the charming city.
Lo and Daddy! They were having fun too. By the way have you noticed we cut Lo's hair.
All the streets were small with lovely views up the hill. LOVE it!
You can see the cathedral in the back. Yes Germany is very slowly starting to win me over.
Street after street with charming shops, chocolate stores, pubs, and resturants.
We let Lo run around in this fountain. Took of his trousers, and socks, and let him go at it. The weather was just perfect for this. He took a nap right after he finished playing!
My boys treated me to a wonderful Mother's Day! I felt so pampered and loved!
Oh and once we have signed our contract I will post which house we will be living in!
