The second reason is that it means Christmas is not that far away! My other favorite holiday!
I started off the holiday season with some baking! I made these wonderfully moist pumpkin cupcakes with my Honey Lemon Cream Cheese frosting! The recipe had called for maple, but since I did not have any around, I thought I would substitute maple for honey, then I saw the lemon and added some zest and juice!
I had some wonderful friends over for some sugar making cookies! So much fun!

Even Logan joined in on the cookie making extravaganza!
You can't have Halloween without carving a pumpkin!

This year I decided to roast the pumpkin seeds and tried this recipe from Parade ( Parade.com ) section of the Sunday paper:
Dry seeds for 30 min @ 300 F.
Take out and Toss with:
2 Tbsp melted butter
1 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg.
I had never thought they would really be good to eat, but now I think I will makes these every year.
We had our ward Trunk-or-Treat, and Logan went as a bat! He had so much fun looking at all the other kids in their costumes!

We decided to head out and hit a couple of homes just to get Logan used to the idea of Halloween, and well to take some pictures! As you can tell, I am having way more fun than he is. Mike was a great sport and humored me in going out for a little while.

It looks like you guys had fun. We took Kylee out for a while to go trick-or-treating as well. I love how cute Logan's smile is in all of his pictures. I also love his tiger costume. (Kylee had the same one last year from Old Navy.)

Aren't the holidays even better with kids? He's so cute!
